What Is PageRank | Why PageRank Depends On Backlinks?
PageRank is measured on the basis of quality backlinks to a site. Backlinks means links from other site pointing towards your site.
Well, there is no such answer to this question. But, backlinks help crawlers like google to identify how much site exposure is a site gaining. Like more backlinks would give a high impression to crawlers as well as visitors but less would do the opposite.

Why Some Backlinks are not counted in pagerank?
Well, there are mainly two reasons for this:
- Zero PR: If you post your link on a website with PR as 0, then gradually, 0.0 PR would be passed on and you would get no benefit from that site. But if the site improves it PR, then your Pagerank would automatically be increased.
- Rel-nofollow: 99% of the blogs on internet keep rel-nofollow. Now, what's rel-nofollow? Rel stands for relationship and it says to crawlers to not follow the link, i.e. to not count as pagerank. Such links would be counted as backlinks but not included in pagerank.
Why PageRank Is Important?
Well, pagerank is not as important as alexa rank. But PageRank still stands a value. Most of the sites with PR4+ are considered high quality and good traffic sites.
